Inspired by one of my teacher’s kid who seemed to be a great drummer, the ‘Chenda’, by the way he used to play the toy version.

Here are some of the  grabs from my illustrations made for Sri Ramakrishnan, writing a book on Lord Shiva’s  ‘Ashtashta Murthy’ or the 60 different forms.  Sri Ramakrishnan is recently awarded by the Tamilnadu State Government for his book on the history of Dharmapuri district of Tamilnadu. Hearty congratulations!

I believe the Indian art forms, the Chalukya Sculptures in this case , have a great harmony with regard to the idea behind each figure and the artistic representation. Though they seem irrational with many hands and heads they are subjective  level representation of the multiple functionality of a higher being consecrated in a image, with each parts having its own similes and metaphors.
